Myanmar: Plan under Way to Increase Forest Coverage Areas

The Forest Department is working to designate 30 per cent of the country’s total area as reserved forests and protected public forests and 10 per cent as protected area, said Thaung Naing Oo, Director of Forest Research Department at a press meet on “Myanmar REDD+ Program” at the office of Myanmar Journalists Network in Yangon on May 10.
